Healing Takes Time
When lightning rips the starry sky,
And thunder roars at this crime,
The wounded sky in silence waits,
For it knows healing takes time.
When a tender bud soon to bloom,
Is damaged by storm’s cruel hands,
It doesn't grumble, fret or fume,
For it knows that healing takes time.
When autumn strips the mighty trees,
And turns earth a carpet of leaves,
The trees don't break but wait for spring,
For they know that healing takes time.
When the moon hides in the dark sky,
And retreats in its lonely shell,
The stars wait for it to get well,
For they know that healing takes time.

This is a story of when I went on a trek to Devkund Waterfalls with my best friend.
The waterfall was at a great height. To reach it, we had to cross a stream full of strong currents.
We had to jump from one point to the other. If we didn't jump, we'd fall in the water and possibly be swept by currents.
I tried to jump and failed. Falling in the water, I was quickly pulled by two strangers who jumped in to save me.
The experience was traumatizing. I wondered if I'd be even able to complete the trek.
At that time, two other strangers offered helped and I agreed. One of them carried my heavy bag while another guided me through rough, mushy ground patches.
Had it not been for them, I would've found it harder to complete the trek. Whenever I think of them, I'm filled with gratitude.
1) Koi na yokan (Japanese origin)
A feeling when you meet someone the first time and know that while you're not in love with them now, you'll be in the near future.
2) Epibreren (Dutch origin)
To give the appearance of being busy and important when in reality you're being super lazy.
3) Gigil (Filipino origin)
When you want to squeeze something that is so cute.
4) Loskop (African origin)
Someone who is forgetful, absentminded and a bit airheaded.
5) Yaourt (French origin)
When you want to sing a song even when you don't know the words and use nonsensical noises that vaguely represent the lyrics.
Write a story using your own imagination answering the question: Why is the sky blue? Share it in the comments section!
Here's mine:
“Once upon a time, God appointed two angels to help in painting the earth. They painted everything except the sky.
Tired, they went to sleep. When God saw them, furious, he woke them and ordered them to finish the job. Since blue was the colour left, the angels painted it in shades of blue.
The other colours were furious. So the sun consoled them, saying that during sunrise and sunset, it would display the shades ignored.”
The painting given below is made by Jeremy Neill. Acrylic on cotton canvas, the painting is titled: “Window to a New Soul”.
I like to this of the red patch in between as a new soul being formed.

While this was fun, brainstorming and ensuring good content took a lot of time.

Oooh, I love every single bit of this. The poem is very relatable. I really paused at all of the quotes and other than Angelou’s, I had not heard the others before, and I collect inspirational quotes. The WORDS are really insightful, and some made me laugh out loud! The painting is powerful and feels like a portal so we can interpret that many ways, of course, as with all good art. I am restacking your special Sunday edition. 100% cheering you on to do this, if not every week, as often you can. BRAVA!
